How Arcade Beauty went live with OneStream in 4 months without losing a step
About this video
Arcade Beauty, the worldwide leader in cosmetics and fragrance sampling with 12 global production sites, had outgrown HFM. Board decks were large, manually assembled, and reported numbers in table formats without telling the story behind them. When the existing system required an upgrade, leadership chose to look forward rather than invest in what they already had.
CPM Express delivered a full implementation in three to four months, running in parallel with the existing system until data was fully reconciled. Finance teams now control consolidation, legal entity reporting, and management reporting without relying on IT or outside consultants for routine changes. The best measure of success, in George Garcia's words, is that the team never lost a step and is already looking to do more.

Key takeaways
- An outdated HFM system that required IT support for every change prompted Arcade Beauty to look forward, not upgrade. With 12 global production sites and complex board reporting needs, the case for a more flexible, Finance-owned platform was clear.
- CPM Express delivered a full implementation in three to four months, running in parallel until data was fully reconciled. A global Finance organization with significant change management concerns went live on time and with confidence in the numbers from day one.
- Board reporting transformed from large manual table decks into consolidated financials that tell the story behind the numbers. OneStream supports legal entity reporting, management reporting, and all external stakeholder outputs including audits, credit agencies, and investors from one platform.
- Finance teams now control routine system changes without bringing in IT or outside consulting support. Moving from an inflexible legacy system to a platform Finance can manage independently is, in George Garcia's view, a huge competitive advantage.
- The best compliment a CFO can give a new system is that the team never lost a step. Arcade Beauty reconciled, went live, and kept moving, with the Finance team already focused on what they can do next with the platform.

My name is George Garcia. I'm the President of the U.S. and Global CFO for Arcade Beauty. Arcade Beauty is the worldwide leader in sampling for both cosmetics and fragrances. We're also a large full turnkey solutions provider in those industries.
We're a very global business with 12 production sites worldwide, headquartered in the U.S. and France. We also have operations in Brazil, Poland, and China. We did have Hyperion or HFM. However, the information wasn't put in a way where we could organize the data to understand the global results in a way that could be communicated to our board.
We spent a lot of time manually putting together information, very large board decks that didn't really tell the story behind the numbers, but board just sort of reported the numbers in table formats.
We got to a point where our system was actually dated and required an upgrade. It required us to take a look at, you know, do we upgrade the existing system? Or do we start looking at things that are out there that may be more unique or better than what we had today? I've been a global CFO for several private equity firms.
One of those was DNM, where we were under HFM, actually. And we were looking for a way to bring two companies together through an acquisition. It required us to take a look at what other solutions were out there.
That's when we first learned about OneStream. That goes about almost more than a decade ago. My experience with OneStream had a very positive experience. And part of the reason why I'll say OneStream was one of the front-liners going into this.
One of my concerns before we decided to select OneStream was when you migrate to a new system, there's a lot of challenges on educating the existing finance organization. They get very accustomed to what they have.
There is also a significant learning curve on implementation, different rules, and different systems. In the process, we learned that there was a new implementation process with OneStream called CPM Express.
And it was about a three to four month implementation process. When I say we went, live in three to four months, we were live, we were running in parallel, had reconciled the data and felt really good about it.
A lot of that process leveraged our existing format and systems and customized it so that it could fit into the OneStream formats. The system that we were using before was a bit inflexible, required the use of IT to make any effective change.
With OneStream, we're a lot more in control. And there are some basic things that we can make changes to without having to bring in consulting help to do that. So I think that's a lot of the things that we can make changes to, and there are some basic things that we can make changes to without having to bring in consulting help to do that. So I think that's a lot of the things that we can make changes to do that. I think that's a huge advantage.
We use OneStream for our full consolidation, both our legal entity financial reporting, but also our management financial reporting. We extract information from there to support all of our board and outside external reporting, whether it be our credit agencies, our audits, our investors.
The best compliment I can give to a system is we really didn't skip a beat. We haven't really lost a step and the team is now looking to do more.
