How Cimpress replaced four-hour data loads and fragmented reporting with one unified platform
About this video
Cimpress, a global manufacturer of customized printed and promotional products, was running consolidation, reporting, and budgeting on SAP BPC with significant pain. Data loads from SAP into BPC took over four hours, different reports produced different numbers, and a constantly evolving business structure made adding entities or restructuring nearly impossible without major effort.
OneStream consolidated data collection, bottoms-up planning, long-term planning, people planning, and management reporting into one centralized platform. Excel spreadsheet collection from disparate businesses was automated, extensible dimensionality gave each business unit the flexibility to build its own dashboards and reporting, and a single source of truth ended the inconsistency that had undermined confidence in the numbers across the organization.

Key takeaways
- Four-hour data loads from SAP into BPC and inconsistent reporting across teams made a platform change unavoidable. Different users running different reports and getting different numbers eroded confidence in Finance data across the entire Cimpress organization.
- OneStream wasidentified through Gartner research as the platform built exactly for whatCimpress needed. The combination of consolidation, planning, and reporting flexibility on one unified platform addressed every gap the team had been struggling with in BPC.
- A constantly acquisitive business needed a platform that could add entities and restructure without friction. OneStream's flexibility gave Cimpress the agility to keep pace with organizational change without major system rework every time the business evolved.
- Extensible dimensionality lets each business unit build its own dashboards, reporting, and budgeting within one governed platform. Individual businesses get the granularity and flexibility they need while Finance maintains the single source of truth that leadership requires.
- Cimpress is excited about what AI tools and Genesis capabilities will unlock next on the platform. For Michelle Greenberg, the fact that there is always something new coming is what keeps the work challenging and the team engaged with OneStream's continued evolution.

My name is Michelle Greenberg. I am the director of corporate systems and processes for Simpress. Simpress manufactures any type of printed products, business cards, brochures, as well as t-shirts, anything you can get at a convention with a company's name on it, as well as personal products.
Before we implemented OneStream, we were on SAP BPC tool for consolidation and reporting and budgeting. We had a numerous amount of problems. Our company is constantly changing, doing acquisitions, and we needed the flexibility to be able to easily add new entities, restructure our businesses, and we were not able to easily do that, as well as the fact that it was taking us over four hours to load the data from SAP into BPC and have it calculation, translation, consolidation, and we didn't have a single source of truth.
People would run different reports and report different numbers, and there was no consistency. And I went to the Gartner reports and found OneStream. It was like they created this tool exactly for what we were looking for.
With the implementation of OneStream, we have reaped many benefits from consolidating all of our different functionalities from many disparate systems into one centralized system. We implemented both the collection of data from all of our different businesses, as well as bottoms-up planning, and then we also did long-term planning for our central teams, people planning, and then we also did long-term planning.
We've reduced a lot of manual work, all of the collection of Excel spreadsheets from all of our different businesses, and being able to automate all of that into one system. We took advantage of OneStream's extensible dimensionality that go from very detailed accounts to very high-level accounts.
If they want to do their own internal management reporting, they can do that as well and build out their own dashboards and their own data. capabilities, do their own budgeting process in OneStream. And the nice thing about OneStream is there's always something new that's coming.
Very excited about all the new AI tools and the Genesis tools that we're going to be able to take advantage of. There's always something to challenge me and keep me excited about doing my job.
